Author Guidelines

Current and former George Mason School of Public Policy Masters students can self-submit material for publication in one of four sections:

The New Voices: Scholarly term papers/course work. Please limit submissions to 5,000 words; authors can condense longer papers.

Perspective: A commentary piece of no more than 1,000 words that provides an opinion/critique of any current policy issue.

Alumni Voices: A critique or scholarly article written by an alumnus of any SPP Masters-level program, including current PhD students or professionals. Submissions can be between 1,000-4,000 words.

Review: A critique of a current book, documentary, government document, recent articles, or any other recently-published work. No more than 500 words.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
